September 19

What a day! Summer is ending nicely. I hope it continues. We had a nice day in grade 2. We had our pictures taken first thing this morn so everyone looked great! We worked on some more number recognition, some sight words in French, had library, we read, had gym outdoors, and finished the day with work on the sound of the week.
The kids are great with their sounds. We will use this strength to become super readers. I will start the at-home reading, with age appropriate books, in October. For now, we are going to read A LOT in class, alone, to peers, with peers, and as a class. Ask your child what they thought of the writing activity we did at the end of the day. Was it hard? Easy? Could they understand some, most, all of the words they needed to use to fill in the blanks?

I go take my kid to hockey and run a cross-country race!

Cheers!
