Well it looks like we have some volunteers. Thanks to Mr. Baker, Mr. Ross, Mrs. Woodford, and possibly, Ms. Langdon, Mrs. Ross, and ____________.

Ask your child what happened at assembly today. They did some character building!
Math is going well. We are almost done our unit on measurement. The kids should be able to tell you when to use centimeters and meters.
Science is hot! I mean temperature wise. If you have a thermometer at home, have your child explain how it works/how to read it. You should hear that the liquid gets hot and moves up and gets cold and moves down. If they were listening and retained my teachings, you will hear that the liquid takes up more space when heated and less when cooled. They might even tell you it's alcohol inside and why we use it. I heard a bunch of students let me know that their dad enjoys alcohol sometimes! LOL. Yes, I just LOL'd.
English is swell. We just finished working on the long e sound: keep, beach, sea, easy, etc.
We are gearing up for Prairies Day on May 24 and a field trip to the dairy congress shortly after that. We are going to focus, once again, on social studies for the events.
It is wet out! Maybe throw an extra pair of socks in the backpack. Rain boots too?

April 8
I apologize for my deficiencies in the blogging dept. I have actually been paying closer attention to doing my supervision at the end of the day.
We have been working on measurement. Distances, sizes, weights, order, etc. in math. Here the kids, with little assistance, ranked themselves from smallest to tallest.
Last week we measured different objects using non-standard units:
Evan is measuring using a pencil! Xavier didn't agree with his measurement!
Riley is measuring the carpet with a pencil.
Ella is using a lego block to measure the length of the whiteboard.
Rachel is measuring Karma's height with a lego piece.
Sami is measuring the whiteboard with a dice.

Tomorrow we will use the scale to weigh ourselves and then rank.
In science, we are learning about heat and temperature. Have you child try to explain what we did/ what is happening in the pictures if you want to know how they are doing.
