February 27

Hello there. We had a magnetic day in 2P. The kids had the chance to explore with magnets and compasses, and iron filings to see the magnetic fields of different styles of magnets. I made a compass for them and explained how it works. Ask them if they could tell you the materials and the steps needed to make one's own compass. Ask them: If the needle of a compass is a magnet, and it points north, what pole of the magnetic needle is pointing north!

Ask them what's going on in the pictures!!

It was "Wear Pink To Show You're Against Bullying Day"

Homework: M. Pask  37 menthes. Il en donne à chacun de ses vingt élèves et il mange quatre. Combien de menthes est-ce qu'il lui reste?

NB! Allow the kids to read it themselves and try to complete it. When they look at you for help, don't! Just encourage! They can do it. They do this type of question first thing every morning.

February 25

Last week of February! Hard to believe. I look forward to the slush, dirty windshield, and increasing daylight!

Did you see Gagner's move in the shootout on Saturday! Epic!

My ten year old told me he was going to try it at his game yesterday! After cherry picking on the other team's blue line and getting 3 breakaways, he almost had it!!!

Your son or daughter had a day of magnetism. We talked magnets and used magnets and watched magnets, and then we played with magnets!

I don't have a whole heck of a lot to put here except that Wednesday is Anti-bullying day and to show one's support, wear PINK! I haven't told the kids yet, but I was hoping to have Thursday as a FORMAL day!? This will please the girls more than the boys, I imagine! Oh well, can't please 'em all!

Friday is a professional development day so please don't send your child to school or they will have to do all of my work!
