Today we spent some time working on a turkey (dinde) with feathers that created a pattern (math). Each individual feather could've had a pattern, but more importantly, the 8 feathers should've made a pattern. I did some examples of patterns on the board and clearly explained what the students were supposed to accomplish. Have a look to see if your child got it!
The next part of our day was spent reading a story entitled La Fête d'Automne (The fall Party). Different kinds of animals each contributed to a picnic. A beaver built a sing saying: Long live autumn! A bear brought a fish and a table cloth. The kids had to listen, read, underline important parts, and then write about who brought what.
We finished the day off with a story about manners and then a bit of writing about it. I had a few kids that reeeeeally had a not-so-good day as far as listening goes. Maybe ask your child how things went?
I had all of the kids read to me today. Most are quite decent readers. We will work on our sounds next week and then start the At-Home-Reading Program.
